Waxing Aftercare Instructions

ESSENTIAL TIPS FOR SMOOTH, HEALTHY SKIN POST-WAXING

We want you to enjoy long-lasting, smooth skin after your waxing service. Proper aftercare is essential to prevent irritation, ingrown hairs, and sensitivity while keeping your skin soft and healthy. Follow these waxing aftercare instructions to get the best results from your wax.

What To Avoid After Waxing

The First 24-48 Hours

For the first 24-48 hours, your skin will be more sensitive, and taking the right precautions will help prevent irritation, breakouts, and ingrown hairs. To ensure the best results, avoid the following:

Avoid Tight Clothing – Opt for loose-fitting, breathable fabrics to prevent friction and irritation.
No Sexual Activity – Avoid sexual activity for at least 24-48 hours, especially after Brazilian or bikini waxing, to prevent irritation and bacterial infections.
No Tanning (Sunbathing, Tanning Beds, or Spray Tans) – Freshly waxed skin is more prone to sunburn and irritation, so avoid direct sun exposure, tanning beds, and spray tans for 48 hours.
No Hot Baths or Showers (Cool to Lukewarm Only) – Heat can irritate freshly waxed skin, so stick to cool or lukewarm water when showering.
No Saunas, Hot Tubs, Massages, or Steam Treatments – Excessive heat and moisture can lead to skin irritation and clogged pores after waxing.
No Gym or Any Other Physical Activity – Avoid excessive sweating, workouts, or activities that increase body heat and friction for 24-48 hours.
Avoid Scratching or Touching the Treated Area with Unwashed Hands – Touching the waxed area can introduce bacteria, leading to irritation or breakouts.
No Artificial Fragrances, Colored Soaps, Lotions, or Sprays on the Waxed Area – Stick to gentle, fragrance-free products to avoid irritation and sensitivity.

Histamine Reactions

Waxing can trigger a temporary histamine response, which is the body’s natural reaction to the shock of hair removal. This response increases blood flow to the treated area, sometimes resulting in white or red bumps, mild swelling, or irritation. These symptoms are completely normal and typically subside within 24-48 hours. To help soothe the skin, apply hydrocortisone cream or take an antihistamine such as Benadryl if the reaction persists longer than expected.

Exfoliating Instructions for Post-Wax Care

START 72 HOURS AFTER YOUR WAX FOR SMOOTH, HEALTHY SKIN

Exfoliation is essential for preventing and treating ingrown hairs, keeping your skin soft, clear, and ready for your next waxing session. Dead skin cells can accumulate and clog hair follicles, leading to bumps, irritation, and uneven regrowth.

When to Start: Begin exfoliating 72 hours post-wax to allow your skin time to recover.
How to Exfoliate: Use a Merben body brush before showering or during with a mild soap, applying in a clockwise, upward motion to remove dead skin buildup.
After Exfoliating: Apply PFB Vanish Roll-On or Fur Oil after showering to help clear pores, reduce irritation, and promote proper hair regrowth.

Why Exfoliation Matters: Regular exfoliation keeps your skin smooth, reduces ingrown hairs, and helps hair cycles grow more evenly, leading to better waxing results and a longer-lasting smooth finish.
